working together to ensure America has a skilled work force. It
helps each student excel.
SkillsUSA
is a national nonprofit organization serving teachers and high
school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade,
technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations.
It was formerly known as VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of
America).
The
South Carolina Association of SkillsUSA provides unique opportunities
for students to showcase their leadership ability and skill attainment

Registration Instructions for Competitions
Students
must be a SkillsUSA member before registering.
Steps for Registration
Go to www.skillsusa-register.org
Login, you may have to set up a login if you have never registered
with SkillsUSA.
Click on Conference tab at the top of registration page, then
My Registration. At the Filter Event, arrow to SC Leadership and
Skills Conference. Refer to Show Steps for first time registering.

NTHS Scholarships Reminder
SkillsUSA
has once again teamed up with the National Technical Honor Society
(NTHS) to promote outstanding student achievement with in career
and technical education. SkillsUSA is offering two $1000 scholarships
through NTHS, and these will be awarded at the 2008 national conference.
An essay and application are required. The deadline is March 1,

Teacher and Student of the Year Awards
The SCSKillsUSA Board of Directors is excited to announce that
we have voted to implement Teacher and Student of the Year Awards.
Information regarding the nominations of a Teacher of the Year
and/or Student of the Year can be found at www.scskillsusa.org.
Applications can be downloaded from this site. The Board of Directors
will choose the winners from the nominations. Winners will be
announced at the April Leadership Conference.
